Onesies are for winter!☃️❄

Not going to lie. This velour onesie is one of my favorite projects that I’ve made this year. It’s soo comfy and cute and extra all at the same time😂😂😂

During most of quarantine, I’ve pretty much been bumming around the house with ratty looking lounge wear, but no more! I shall be walking around the house looking cute from now on even if I’m the only one that gets to see it haha. In keeping with my obsession with 90 day Fiance, I have decided to name this one “Darcy”. Because Darcy is the level of extra and bougie that I aspire to be, and she would definitely have a velvet/velour onesie.

As for the pattern, I used Simplicity 8520. It’s a more fitted onesie pattern, which I like! The pattern was easy to put together and I didn’t have any major issues. This is a good weekend sewing project as it comes together fairly quickly. I originally made the pattern with the front pockets, but I wasn’t a fan of the front pockets. They were a little small for my personal tastes. So, I self-drafted some side pockets instead and I’m really happy with that decision. Not only was I able to make pockets deep enough to fit my phone but I also think it gave the onesie a slightly more sleek and “adult” look to it. There are a lot of tutorials on how to make your own side pockets, but I found this YouTube video by Break n Remake to be especially helpful.
